GEDON™ | Precision Search for Complex Construction in Cork is seeking a senior commercial leader to drive a portfolio of technically complex MEP projects across Ireland and Europe. You will shape pricing, risk, contract terms and client negotiations, operating at Commercial Manager/Head of Commercial level within a major contractor environment.

You will build and mentor the commercial team, oversee cash flow and margins, and report to the senior leadership group.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS

You will be joining a business that sits at the sharp end of mission-critical delivery. Projects are typically large, fast-paced and technically intricate, involving complex building services, process systems and tightly controlled environments where precision and programme certainty are paramount.

The culture is collaborative, ambitious and delivery-focused. Senior leaders work closely with operations, engineering and project teams, and commercial input is valued from the earliest stages of bidding and design through to final account. You will have the authority to influence how the business wins, prices and delivers work.

Based in Cork, you will be well positioned within one of Ireland’s most important regions for life sciences and advanced manufacturing, while also supporting an increasing volume of work across Europe with multinational clients and a broad range of contract models.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide senior commercial leadership across a portfolio of technically complex MEP projects within mission-critical sectors
• Lead commercial strategy at bid stage, including pricing, risk assessment, contract review and negotiation of terms
• Oversee cost management, forecasting, cash flow and margin protection across live projects
• Manage and develop the commercial team, setting standards, processes and reporting across the business
• Lead change management, claims and final account negotiations with clients and main contractors
• Manage supply chain and subcontract procurement strategy to drive value and commercial certainty
• Report commercial performance to the senior leadership team and wider group, contributing to business planning
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants and partners across Ireland and Europe

WHAT YOU NEED

• Significant commercial leadership experience within the MEP or building services sector, currently at Commercial Manager, Head of Commercial or Commercial Director level
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally gained within a general contractor environment
• Proven track record on large, technically complex projects; data centre, pharma or life sciences experience is highly beneficial
• Thorough knowledge of contract forms used across Ireland and Europe, including NEC, FIDIC and bespoke main contractor terms
• Demonstrable ability to lead, develop and motivate commercial teams
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and reporting skills at board level
• MRICS, MSCSI or an equivalent professional qualification is desirable
