Job summary

Teamworx in Cork City Centre is seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer to support sourcing, selection and purchasing of premium product collections. The role works closely with the Buying Manager to manage supplier relationships and stock, ensuring alignment with customer demand and business objectives.

The ideal candidate has prior buying experience within luxury retail, analytical skills and a proactive, collaborative approach to product development and commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Junior Buyer, Assistant Buyer, Buying Assistant or similar role is essential.
• Strong understanding of the buying process, including product selection and purchasing.
• Experience working with senior buyers or within an established buying team.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse sales performance and trends.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with high standards of efficiency.
• Proactive and collaborative approach with interest in product development and commercial performance.
• Candidates with buying experience across fashion, accessories, beauty, homewares, lifestyle, jewellery or luxury goods are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support the Buying Manager in sourcing, selecting and purchasing product collections.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and brand partners.
• Monitor sales performance, stock levels and category performance across locations.
• Analyse sales data, market trends and pricing developments for insights.
• Maintain product, pricing and supplier information across stock systems.
• Handle buying administration including invoice processing and stock allocation.
• Coordinate supplier orders, track deliveries and stock distribution.
