Job summary

European Investment Bank (EIB) seeks an Associate Sector Specialist – Critical Raw Materials to support due diligence and appraisal of mining, metals refining and related process industries. Based at the Luxembourg headquarters, you will work in a multidisciplinary team within the SCPI/INCO divisions and interact with internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires at least 3 years in relevant sectors, strong analytical skills and fluency in English (with French advantageous).

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Engineering, Science, Economics or Finance or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in minerals, metals, critical raw materials or related process industries.
• Knowledge of industrial project analysis including technical, economic, environmental and financial aspects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical, economic and financial assessment of investment projects in mining and metals.
• Evaluate environmental and social sustainability of projects against EIB standards.
• Support origination and screening of investment opportunities with Lending Directorate.
• Appraise projects, identify risks and contribute to evidence-based conclusions.
