Job summary

The European Investment Bank (EIB) seeks an Associate Sector Specialist - Railway Infrastructure for its Rail Infrastructure Division in the Mobility Department, based at its Luxembourg headquarters. The role involves evaluating railway investment projects for EIB financing, conducting due diligence, and supporting sector policy work.

This is a full-time, 3-year contract (grade 4). Regular office presence is required; relocation support is offered to successful applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree minimum; Master’s or related dual focus is an advantage.
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in transport infrastructure projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to synthesise complex information.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to assessing technical, environmental, social, economic and financial viability of railway investments.
• Monitor projects financed by the EIB and cooperate with relevant Bank services.
• Support due diligence, techno-economic assessments and interactions with project promoters.
• Maintain and develop the Division's unit cost database.
• Contribute to sector policy papers and representation at sector events.
