Job summary

Gaeltec Utilities Limited is seeking a Lineworker PICW (Person in Charge of Works) to safely plan, coordinate, and execute electrical network construction, maintenance and repair works. As PICW, you will lead site crews, manage permits and safety controls on site in Kilkenny (Nationwide).

The role requires ESB Networks experience, current PICW authorisation, and strong leadership and English communications. A fixed-term contract, full driving licence and willingness to travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Qualified Lineworker with ESB Networks experience.
• Current PICW authorisation.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience on electrical distribution or transmission networks.
• Full clean driving licence (and trailer).
• Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, First Aid, Pole-Top Rescue and MEWP certifications or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety rules, procedures, permits and risk assessments.
• Lead site crews and coordinate daily activities to ensure safe, efficient delivery.
• Manage permits, safety controls, and pre-start briefings.
• Supervise Lineworkers and subcontractors on network operations.
• Coordinate outages, switching programs, isolations, and reinstatement activities.
• Read drawings and understand network schematics and construction plans.
• Ensure quality, documentation and compliance with policies and regulations.
