Job summary

European Job Days is seeking an experienced overhead line worker for assignments across Ireland, including Mullingar. You will be responsible for safe installation, maintenance and testing on poles and towers, ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards.

The role requires 2+ years on overhead networks, appropriate certifications (MEWP, manual handling, First Aid) and the ability to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays and weekend/out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of overhead line experience.
  • Level 6 qualification or trained to Overhead Line Worker level.
  • Current Manual Handling, First Aid Training and MEWP Certificates.
  • Able to travel to various sites across Ireland with occasional overnight stays.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Compliance with PSCS Regulation requirements.
  • Delivery in line with the programme requirements.
  • Climb/Work at Height on wooden poles and towers.
  • Replacing old and erecting new equipment/hardware at pole and tower tops.
  • Splicing and terminating conductors to client specs.
  • Witnessing/polarity checks and quality control of work area.

Job description

Ireland, Mullingar and various sites across Ireland

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Compliance with PSCS Regulation requirements
  • Compliance with relevant company policies and procedures requirements
  • Value engineering
  • Industry best practices
  • Delivery in line with the programme requirements
  • Climb/Work at Height on both wooden poles and towers
  • Request/Receive Operational Documentation.
  • Testing for loss of voltage
  • the earthing of OHL
  • Replacing old and erecting new equipment/hardware at both pole top and tower top
  • Splicing and terminating conductors to client spec
  • Fitting and removing network earths
  • Witnessing/carrying out polarity checks
  • Quality control of their work area
Education requirements:

Trained to Line worker level with 2 years experience. Safe Pass. Previous experience on overhead line networks from LV/MV. Ability to work on both wooden poles and towers. Current Manual Handling, First Aid Training and MEWP Certificates. A current full and valid Driving Licence. Good verbal and written communications skills in English. Able to travel to various sites across Ireland with occasional overnight stay as and when required. Able to work weekends and cover out of hours as and when required.
