Job summary

Suir Engineering, a leading international provider of electrical and instrumentation engineering solutions in Ireland, is seeking experienced Lineworkers to join our expanding team. You will work on HV/MV projects across Ireland, with voltage levels ranging from 10kV to 400kV.

The role requires reading schematics, performing cable jointing and terminations, maintaining HSEQ standards, and willingness to travel. A full clean driver’s licence and HV/MV experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced HV/MV Cable Jointer with proven experience on power cable systems.
• Experience with cable jointing and terminations across transmission and distribution networks.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, cable installation practices, and industry safety standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a variety of environments, including substations, renewable energy sites, and outdoor locations.
• Full, clean driver’s licence.
• Flexibility to travel throughout Ireland as project requirements dictate.
• Relevant industry certifications and authorisations are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cable jointing and termination works on MV and HV power cable systems from 10kV to 400kV.
• Perform cable testing, fault-finding, diagnostics, and repair activities.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, cable route plans, and construction documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and within project timelines.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and site teams.
• Maintain full compliance with company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) procedures.
• Complete all documentation and reporting requirements associated with jointing activities.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain industry certifications and technical competence.

Key Responsibilities
