Concern Worldwide is seeking a Learning Manager in Dublin to lead organisation-wide learning and development. You will design and deliver a six-month Pathway programme for managers, manage a two-person team including a Digital Learning Designer, and oversee the global training calendar and e-learning environment.

The role requires strong leadership, inclusive content development, and the ability to build partnerships with learning institutions and providers in a 50% hybrid Dublin-based setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading learning and development programmes with people management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with learning platforms and e-learning design (Totara LMS, Articulate Storyline) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organisation's approach to learning and development aligned with the Strategic Plan.
  • Design and deliver the management development programme (Pathway), with blended formats.
  • Oversee the Global Training Calendar with modules in French and English.
  • Oversee the organisation's e-learning environment: user and course administration.
  • Lead onboarding initiatives delivered virtually, online and in person.
  • Build partnerships with learning institutions and language providers.
  • Collaborate with managers to design and deliver development interventions.
  • Monitor performance indicators and report progress; ensure inclusivity of content.

Job Title: Learning Manager

Reports to: Head of Talent Acquisition & Development

Terms: 9 months Fixed Term (Maternity cover), 50% Hybrid in our Dublin 2 office.

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Salary: GBF 6: €57,683 - €64,092

Role Purpose: Working as Learning Manager you will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of organisation-wide learning and development initiatives, working to ensure Concern's people have the skills and competencies required to meet existing and future organisational needs

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of two people – Learning administrator and Digital Learning Designer.
  • Lead Concern's approach to learning and development in line with Concern's Strategic Plan and HR Policy and Strategy;
  • Lead the design and delivery of Concern's management development programme. A six-month blended learning programme, Pathway is completed by over 100 managers each year and includes virtual and in-person workshops along with accompanying online learning and job-based projects;
  • Lead the design and delivery of The Global Training Calendar, a calendar of scheduled online workshops, available in French and English, providing micro-learning opportunities across the organisation;
  • Lead the delivery of Concern's e-learning environment, overseeing user administration, course administration and content development;
  • Lead the design and delivery of a range of tailored onboarding initiatives delivered virtually, online and in person;
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with learning institutions, private organisations and language providers;
  • Work with managers of all levels to design and deliver appropriate learning and development interventions;
  • Report and monitor activity to meet performance indicators while reviewing progress to refine future initiatives;
  • Proof learning content to ensure it is inclusive and accessible as possible to a diversity of employees;
  • Demonstrate leadership on workplace equality, diversity and inclusion with team members and role model a positive safeguarding ethos;
  • Demonstrate positive internal and external working relationships within HR and the Learning & Organisation
  • Development team and with stakeholders / wider staff;
  • Accept, advance and pursue any new objectives or responsibilities assigned by the Head of Talent Acquisition and Development
  • All managers are responsible for upholding and promoting Concern's values, demonstrating leadership on workplace equality, diversity and inclusion, and role modelling a positive safeguarding ethos.
  • All managers are required to actively participate in any emergency response as and when required.
Role Holder Requirements:
  • Relevant Qualification or experience in Learning and Development, Human Resource Management or similar;
  • Significant and demonstrable experience of working in a similar learning role responsible for managing people development programmes, with a preference for international experience;
  • Capability to lead, motivate and challenge a learning and development team to deliver quality and accessible learning opportunities to meet organisational needs;
  • Proven excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Solution focused with ability to question and think creatively;
  • Excellent Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills;
  • Empathy and understanding of Concern's values and goals.
  • Experience of Totara Learning Management System and Articulate Storyline - Desirable
  • Fluency in written and spoken French - Desirable
  • Experience in the INGO sector - Desirable
