Job summary

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Co in Ireland seeks a Lead UX Designer to shape user experience for enterprise platforms. You’ll lead the UX design efforts from research through final visuals, mentor 1–3 senior designers, and collaborate with researchers, product owners and engineers in an Agile environment.

You’ll facilitate design thinking workshops, drive user journeys and keep accessibility in focus with WCAG ARIA standards, while evolving a design system and presenting concepts to VP-level

Qualifications

• 9+ years of relevant UX planning and design experience.
• Experience organizing and running workshops (whiteboarding, affinity mapping, etc.).
• Solid user-centered design approach with experience across journeys, touchpoints and platforms.
• Strong collaboration with Product Owners, Engineers and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with confidence presenting strategic design concepts.
• Proficiency with Figma, Miro, Axure, and JIRA in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead ideation, direction and creation of UX designs within a multifunctional team.
• Organize and lead design thinking workshops.
• Take ownership of tasks under the UX Director for technology changes and new methodologies.
• Mentor and lead by example to ensure team efficiency.
• Own validation, usability and execution of final designs from research to development.
• Ensure UX best practices persist across projects and align with accessibility standards.
