Job summary

Jennings O Donovan Partners in Ireland seeks a Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead technical delivery on diverse high-profile projects across renewable energy and water sectors. You will oversee civil and structural designs, ensure Eurocodes compliance, mentor a multidisciplinary team, and coordinate with clients, Architects, M&E, and Fire disciplines to deliver sustainable solutions.

A Level 9 Structural Engineering qualification and 10+ years in design consultancy are required; BIM/Revit

Qualifications

Degree in Structural Engineering (Level 9) or equivalent.
At least 10 years’ experience in a design consultancy, with water/renewables exposure.
Proven Eurocodes and British Standards competency; proficient in industry-standard design software.
Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure; familiarity with Uisce Éireann standards and UK AMP framework is a plus.
Experience as Designer for a Contractor is advantageous.
Strong communication and teamwork; Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
Proficient in Revit and BIM processes; BIM coordination leadership is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead the full project lifecycle from bid to construction supervision.
Oversee civil and structural designs, ensuring Eurocode compliance.
Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, specs and reports.
Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary design teams to deliver sustainable, constructible solutions.
Mentor and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Oversee BIM/Revit structural models and related documentation.
Act as primary client contact, building strong relationships and clear communication.
Undertake site inspections and monitor construction progress.
