Job summary

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in solution architecture or senior engineering leadership in financial services or regulated environments.
• Experience leading architecture for large-scale platform transformation across the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge across applications, integration, data, cloud, security and infrastructure architecture.
• Experience producing current-state, target-state and transition architectures and roadmaps.
• Experience with APIs, messaging, event-driven patterns and third-party connectivity.

Job description

We are seeking a Solution Architecture Lead for a hybrid remote long term day rate contract role in Dublin with strong rates on offer.

You will define and govern the end-to-end architecture for complex financial services transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the definition of target-state, transition and solution architectures for complex financial services technology programmes.
• Translate business capabilities, customer journeys, regulatory requirements and non-functional requirements into coherent architecture designs and delivery roadmaps.
• Own architecture principles, standards, decision records, design governance and traceability across the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Chair or support architecture and design forums, ensuring timely decisions, clear ownership and alignment across business, technology and vendor stakeholders.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, technical delivery leads, product owners, engineering leads, security, data, testing, operations and third-party suppliers.
• Define integration patterns, API and event-driven approaches, data flows, identity and access controls, resilience, observability and service management considerations.
• Assess solution options and technical trade-offs across cost, risk, performance, scalability, maintainability, time to market and regulatory obligations.
• Provide architectural assurance during build, test, migration, cutover and post-go-live, resolving design issues and maintaining alignment to the approved architecture.
• Communicate complex architecture clearly to senior business and technology stakeholders through roadmaps, models, decision papers and executive presentations.
• Mentor architects and technical lead while strengthening reusable architecture assets and capability across the Platforms practice.

Your experience:

• 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, technical architecture or senior engineering leadership within financial services or another complex regulated environment.
• Proven experience leading architecture for large-scale platform transformation across the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge across applications, integration, data, cloud, security and infrastructure architecture, with the ability to connect these domains into an end-to-end solution.
• Experience producing current-state, target-state and transition architectures, architecture roadmaps, option assessments and solution design documentation.
• Experience with integration architecture, including APIs, messaging, event-driven patterns, batch integration and third-party platform connectivity.
• Strong understanding of non-functional requirements including security, privacy, resilience, availability, performance, scalability, recoverability and operational support.
• Experience governing architecture decisions across multidisciplinary, multi-vendor delivery teams and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, communication, facilitation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A third-level degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
