Job summary

E‑Frontiers in Dublin seeks a Lead Platform Architect for a 12-month contract, offering hybrid/remote flexibility. You will design secure, scalable internet infrastructure across global platforms and deliver Architecture Documents guiding enterprise standards.

You will drive design from concept to delivery, collaborating with engineering and application teams, ensuring security, scalability, and high availability while evaluating new technologies and architectural approaches.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in lead/architect roles for complex enterprise infra environments.
• Strong understanding of internet infrastructure, middleware, OS and networks.
• Experience with cloud technologies, load balancers and web application firewalls.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and micro-segmentation, plus YAML deployment practices.
• Excellent communication across global, matrixed teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

A leading global payments technology organisation is seeking a Lead Platform Architect to join its Infrastructure Design Services team. This is a high-impact Lead Platform Architect contract role focused on designing secure, scalable, and high-availability internet infrastructure across global platforms.

As a Lead Platform Architect, you will play a key role from early design through to delivery, producing Technical Architecture Documents (TADs) and ensuring infrastructure solutions align with enterprise security and operational standards. This Lead Platform Architect position offers the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale systems within a highly regulated, global environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Platform Architect, designing end-to-end internet and middleware infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise standards
• Produce Technical Architecture Documents (TADs), logical flows, models, and other architectural artefacts
• Collaborate with application teams, engineers, and stakeholders to define and refine system requirements
• Lead problem diagnosis, performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management across infrastructure components
• Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies while ensuring alignment with security, scalability, and availability principles

About You

• Proven experience as a Lead Platform Architect or similar infrastructure architecture role in complex enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of web middleware, operating systems, network principles, and internet infrastructure design
• Experience with load balancers, web application firewalls, cloud technologies, and database systems
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture, network micro-segmentation, and YAML-based deployment practices
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across global, matrix-based teams and drive architectural alignment
