Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Ireland to join the Employee Platforms team. You will lead end-to-end delivery of full-stack solutions, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions across React, Java Spring Boot, GraphQL/REST, and AWS services.

The role emphasizes security, observability, and scalable design, with cross-functional collaboration with Product and UX to deliver impactful outcomes. A strong background in cloud-native, API-first engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of full-stack engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong React expertise with TypeScript and state management.
• Java Spring Boot API development, dependency injection, validation, and performance tuning.
• GraphQL proficiency including schema design, resolvers, federation, caching, and governance.
• OpenAPI/REST design, pagination, and backward compatibility.
• Hands-on AWS experience with cloud-native design, IAM, logging, and monitoring.
• Experience with security (OIDC/OAuth2), tokens, scopes, and secure sessions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architectural reviews, set coding standards, and mentor engineers.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and secure use of AI in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of full-stack solutions using React, Java Spring Boot, GraphQL/REST, and AWS services.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, set direction and coding standards.
• Drive architecture and design reviews, API contracts, data models, and integration patterns.
• Develop secure, production-grade code and enforce engineering best practices.
• Build scalable, observable services with strong reliability and cost awareness.
• Govern authentication/authorization using OIDC/OAuth2 and service-to-service security patterns.
• Establish robust observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and incident response readiness.
• Evaluate vendor and internal solutions and guide adoption decisions.
• Collaborate with Product and UX to translate requirements into technical plans and milestones.
