Lead Site Foreman — School Construction Project

Job summary

NexVentur group is seeking an experienced Construction Foreman to join our site team on a major school construction project in Athenry, Co. Galway.

The role involves hands-on supervision, coordinating trades and ensuring safety, quality and timely progress. Working closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager, you will oversee labour, subcontractors and materials to maintain programme deadlines and site standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Construction Foreman or Site Foreman.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good knowledge of construction methods and site operations.
• Experience supervising subcontractors, tradespeople and site operatives.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience on commercial, educational, residential or public-sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities per the construction programme.
• Oversee subcontractors, tradespeople and general operatives on site.
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor workforce productivity and performance.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate material requirements, deliveries, plant and equipment.
• Liaise with the Site Manager, Site Engineer and Project Manager regarding progress.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure all works meet quality standards.
• Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues, escalating as needed.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and maintain good housekeeping.
• Monitor progress against the programme and report delays or issues.
• Coordinate different trades to ensure work sequences are managed.
• Ensure tools, plant and materials are stored and used appropriately.
• Promote a positive, professional and safety-conscious working environment.
