Job summary

MCS Group is urgently recruiting a Lead Python Engineer for a Dublin City Centre hybrid role. The position is a hands-on technical leadership role, guiding a small team while driving the design and delivery of scalable Python-based solutions in a fintech-focused environment.

The role involves leading backend architecture, API design, and cloud-based engineering practices within an Agile setting, with a 6-month initial contract and a day-rate of €500–€600 in Dublin.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing software with Python.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
• Experience designing and delivering scalable backend systems.
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices and distributed architectures.
• Cloud experience (AWS).
• Experience working within fast-paced Agile environments.
• Banking, financial services or fintech sector experience.

Lead Python Engineer

Contract - Day Rate

Initial 6 Months

Dublin City Centre (3-4 Days p/w)

€500 - €600 per day

I am currently recruiting for a Lead Python Engineer to join a high-performing FinTech organisation based in Dublin City Centre. This role is hybrid 3-4 days per week with free breakfast & lunch daily.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will be responsible for driving the design and delivery of key platform initiatives while leading a small team engineers (50/50)

The Role:

• Lead the development and delivery of scalable Python based applications

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers

• Drive engineering best practice, code quality and technical standards

• Work closely with Product, Architecture and wider technology teams

• Contribute hands-on to design, development and code reviews

• Support the evolution of a modern cloud-based engineering environment
