Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Mechanical Test Engineer to lead testing and validation for our data centre cooling range, including CRAH, AHU, CDU and Fan Wall systems. You will design validation programmes, run tests, and report results to customers and stakeholders.

You will own calibration of test equipment, improve measurement repeatability and drive automation within the test facility, collaborating closely with Design, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in product testing, design, validation engineering or lab engineering.
• Experience leading first-of-kind or new product validation activities.
• Hands-on workshop and laboratory skills with independent work style.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities autonomously.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Focus on safety, quality and automation in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing activities across CRAH, AHU, CDU and Fan Wall products.
• Design and execute validation programmes including pressure, acoustic and leak testing.
• Develop test procedures, RAMS, scripts and results for customers.
• Analyse results and prepare technical reports for stakeholders.
• Oversee Factory Witness Test and FAT activities with customers.
• Calibrate all test equipment and improve measurement accuracy.
• Develop test rigs, automation and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to embed validation early.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Drive safety, quality and automation improvements in the test facility.
