Job summary

Amazon Data Services Ireland Limited is seeking a Design Electrical Engineer to lead design projects in operational data centers, remediation, upgrades, and new services. You will interface with diverse teams across AWS data centers, server hardware, EHS, field, and controls engineering to maintain reliability and drive standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage multiple projects globally with up to 25% travel, and contribute to safe, cost-effective, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
• Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design projects for data centers in your region.
• Review design and equipment submittals for data centers.
• Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams and other stakeholders to promote standards.
• Manage engineering projects and consultants, building trust with Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design teams.
• Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover with detail-oriented data-driven approaches.
