Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive design activities for new build data centre projects across the EMEA region. You will design resilient, cost-effective mechanical services and lead design consultants from concept through construction documents.

You will work with AWS Infrastructure Services to ensure uptime, cost efficiency, and safety, collaborating with internal teams, utilities, and vendors while supporting fast growth and continued

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support our data centres.
• Understanding how underlying design decisions can impact building and campus level layouts.
• Work with internal teams to understand user requirements.
• Define and approve project scopes, RFPs and RFIs.
• Review and approve equipment submittals.
• Work with local utilities to define site utility requirements.
• Define project scopes and provide support during construction phases.
• Work with regional vendors to specify the appropriate mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate with commissioning teams to validate installation and performance of systems.
