Job summary

Jones Engineering Manufacturing Ltd. in Carlow seeks an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to drive design delivery for electrical works within a multidiscipline team.

You will manage design development from basis of design, coordinate with AE/EoRs and external consultants, and ensure buildability and cost-effectiveness across projects. The role requires a third level degree in Electrical Engineering/Design, 5+ years in a similar role, and strong Revit/AutoCAD and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Electrical Engineering/Design essential.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role desirable.
• Knowledge of Services coordination, SLDs and design schematics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Design Delivery Schedule for all Electrical works with the design team and clients.
• Undertake design development from basis of design for clients.
• Coordinate external consultants and manage design review meetings with production teams.
• Liaise with project team for cost preparation and scheduling of design works.
• Ensure value engineering and buildability are maintained throughout the design process.
• Produce accurate general arrangement layout drawings and electrical schematics.

Lead Electrical Design Engineer - Carlow

Position: Lead Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Bagnalstown, Co. Carlow.

Based out of our permanent Manufacturing Facility in Co. Carlow (Jones Engineering Manufacturing Ltd), due to our continued expansion we are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join and play a pivotal role within our in-house multidiscipline design team.

Jones Engineering Manufacturing is a provider of bespoke modular solutions (packaged plant rooms, skids and conveyances) to the Life Sciences, Data Centre and Energy industries.

Role/Requirements

• Developing and managing the Design Delivery Schedule for all Electrical works along with the Design & Engineering Managers, Manufacturing Project Manager, multi-discipline design team and Clients.
• Undertaking Design development from basis of design for Clients
• Undertaking design assist scopes of work in parallel with Clients and their appointed AE/EoR’s
• Manage and review the design development process ensuring value engineering and buildability are considered
• Control the Electrical design process from start to finish
• Conduct regular meetings with the production team and ensure all technical issues are addressed immediately
• Manage and coordinate external consultants
• Liaise with key personnel within the project team in preparation of project costing and design works
• Assist Project Manager in incorporating all internal and external design and cost issues onto a schedule
• Manage the distribution and production of project workload within the project team and design consultant team.
• Third Level Qualification in Electrical Engineering/Design essential
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role desirable
• Knowledge of Services coordination, SLD’s and Design Schematics required
• Have keen attention to detail and production of quality General arrangement layout drawings.
• Proven ability to problem solve and resolve coordination issues
• Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office essential
• Excellent communication and organisation skills essential
