Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior EHS Officer for leading Ireland’s flagship construction projects. You will ensure safe delivery of large-scale sites, drive a strong safety culture, and maintain high standards across health, safety, and environmental management.

In this role you will support the EHS Manager, conduct site inspections, lead incident investigations, mentor junior team members, and liaise with authorities and clients to deliver training and awareness across site teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar EHS role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation and experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Previous experience in a senior or lead EHS role.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that large-scale construction projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture on-site with full compliance to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Support the EHS Manager in achieving company objectives, conducting site inspections, leading incident investigations, and driving continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior EHS team members and provide guidance to site management on EHS matters.
• Liaise with authorities, clients, and auditors while delivering EHS training and awareness to site teams.
