Job summary

Lever, Inc. in Ireland seeks an Expert Team Lead, SWE to drive high-quality human-generated data for AI model development.

You will lead a team of AI Tutors, review and improve technical work, and collaborate with data and engineering stakeholders to translate model needs into scalable data and evaluation strategies. The role emphasizes quality standards, KPI monitoring, and ongoing coaching in a fast-moving, autonomous environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on data labeling, annotation, AI training or evaluation
• Experience in building scalable tech applications or technical environments
• Understanding of data quality metrics and annotation workflows
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and how data impacts model performance
• Experience in people management, coaching, and certification frameworks
• Experience leading small teams in data labeling or related environments preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment
• Strong analytical skills and KPI-driven process improvement; SQL is a plus
• Experience with distributed teams and mixed employment models is advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal communication to engage diverse stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset
• Ability to combine strategy with hands-on execution
• Expertise in at least one technical domain such as finance, STEM, coding, or similar
• Passion for developing high-performing teams and scalable data operations
• Candidates based in eligible countries; India among available locations; remote arrangements possible

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality and delivery for data projects including review and data production at scale
• Lead, coach, and performance-manage AI Tutor team including reviews and development plans
• Participate in labeling, annotation, evaluation, and review activities
• Establish and enforce QA processes, taxonomy standards, and evaluation criteria
• Monitor KPIs like quality scores and throughput to improve efficiency
• Develop training materials, exercises, and certification benchmarks
• Collaborate with data managers, team leads, and engineering on labeling strategies
• Foster a high-performance culture with coaching and accountability
• Document outcomes and communicate risks and results to stakeholders
• Represent AI Tutor needs and promote collaboration across the organization
• Support continuous improvement and process iteration whenever possible
