Job summary

Boston Scientific in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to support microbiology duties in a permanent role. The position involves environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, data analysis and compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will contribute to product validations, investigations into out-of-spec results, and continuous process improvements while maintaining high standards of documentation and 5S in the lab.

Qualifications

• NFQ 6 higher certificate in Science, Microbiology or related discipline.
• 2 years GMP environment experience.
• 1+ year microbiology experience required.
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform or Review Environmental Monitoring at the plant (Microbial, Particulate, Water).
• Perform or Review product testing (Bioburden and Endotoxin).
• Perform or Review product validations.
• Collect, compile and analyse data and prepare laboratory reports.
• Assist in investigations into out of specification results.
• Maintain 5S standards in the Microbiology lab and office area.
• Support process and quality improvements.
• Ensure compliance to Cork site and Regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to Bioburden and Endotoxin monitoring.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician II on a permanent basis to join our team. The shift for this position is admin flexi.

Job Purpose:

This position has the primary role is assisting with all duties relating to Microbiology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform or Review Environmental Monitoring at the plant (Microbial, Particulate, Water).
• Perform or Review product testing (Bioburden and Endotoxin).
• Perform or Review product validations.
• Collect, compile and analyse data and prepare laboratory reports.
• Assist in any investigations into out of specification results.
• Involvement in ordering materials for laboratory.
• Maintain 5S standards in the Microbiology laboratory and office area.
• Support the business with regard to process improvements and quality improvements.
• Ensure compliance to BSC Cork, Corporate and Regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to Bioburden and Endotoxin monitoring.
• Good team player, organised, accurate, excellent documentation skills
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

Education & Experience:

• NFQ 6 higher certificate in Science, Microbiology or related discipline.
• 2 years similar work experience within a GMP environment.
• 1+ year Micro expereince is required.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Strong Team Player and excellent collaborator.
• Experience in investigation and problem solving.
