Job summary

CareChoice Finglas is hiring a Kitchen Porter on a permanent part-time basis at an on-site Dublin location. You will help keep the kitchen clean, support the team, and ensure food safety and infection control practices are followed in a busy care home environment.

Key duties include dishwashing, safe storage of products, HACCP compliance, and assisting with dining room equipment and overall hygiene. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting in the cleanliness of the kitchen while adhering to all food safety requirements

Kitchen Porter - Responsibilities and Duties

• Ensuring the dishwasher and surrounding area is clean and used efficiency
• Adherence to the safe storage and use of all food and cleaning products
• Compliance withHaccp guidelines as directed by the Head Chef ensuring all work practices are in line with regulations
• Meeting agreed time lines in ensuring all crockery is washed and available on time for meal times.
• Ensure all the equipment is cleaned to a high standard as directed
• Ensuring waste is to a minimum
• Rotate where necessary to meet the catering demands of the role as directed

Health and Safety Awareness Responsibilities

• Adherence to precautions identified in the infection control policy
• Attending to any spillages to avoid any accident
• Assistingin the disposal of clinical waste in line with Nursing home policy
• Application of 'Manual Handling' Techniques as trained
• Compliance with fire safety regulations
• Compliance with the Safety statement
• Ensuring the work area is a safe environment for residents and visitors
• Familiar with the Health and safety at work Act 2005
• Compliance with H.A.C.C.P guidelines and all 'Food Safety' best practices
• Adherence to all national and local health and safety policies and guidelines
• Carry out practical duties only when competent to do so
• Assisting in the hygiene of equipment including all dining room and catering equipment
• Reporting any defects in equipment
