Job summary

Lyrath Estate is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our five-star team near Kilkenny. You will support the culinary team, maintain HACCP standards, and ensure the kitchen remains clean and well-supplied.

The role requires a hands-on, driven approach in a busy environment. Training is provided, and you will work closely with a professional kitchen team to uphold high standards in service and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen environment preferred but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to HACCP standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HACCP standards with the culinary team.
• Ensure cleanliness of the kitchens at all times.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including the dishwashing machine, hand wash stations and pot-scrubbing area.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools and equipment.
• Understand and uphold performance and delivery standards within the Kitchen department.

Lyrath Estate Hotel a 5 star luxurious property nestled on the outskirts of Kilkenny City is currently recruiting for a kitchen porter to join our team.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the culinary team to maintain HACCP standards.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchens at all times.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations and pot-scrubbing station
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all standards of performance and delivery within the Kitchen department.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience working in a busy environment and be capable of performing in a very challenging role. You must be fully flexible, hard working, have the ability to work under pressure and have excellent communication skills.

No previous experience necessary as full training will be provided.
