Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort is seeking an experienced Kitchen Porter to join our team in Ballymascanlon. The role is part-time with responsibilities across dishwashing, pot preparation and kitchen support throughout a busy hotel environment.

Flexibility is essential to cover morning, evening, weekend, Christmas and public holiday shifts. Benefits include meals on duty, staff recognition programs and accommodation discounts at Windward Management properties.

Qualifications

• Flexibility in working hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, Christmas and public holidays.
• Prior experience in a kitchen environment (hotel/restaurant/bar) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supply of clean dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans for all hotel outlets.
• Operate the dishwashing machine and ensure it is cleaned at the end of each shift.
• Prepare pots and wash pans for reuse and return to correct locations.
• Keep glassware organized and store clean dishes properly.
• Assist kitchen staff to keep areas free of boxes and soiled equipment.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen and still room floors; clean counters and shelves.
• Follow safety, hygiene and sanitation practices; report breakages to Head Chef.

Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort is currently recruiting for an experienced Kitchen Porter to join the team.

The Ballymascanlon House is a four-star property set on 130 acres of beautiful parkland. This impressive Victorian House forms the heart of the hotel and is one of the most remarkable historical estates in Ireland dating back to 833 A.D.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supply of clean dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, etc. for all outlets in the hotel.
• Wash dishes, cutlery and glassware by operating the dish washing machine.
• Clean the dish washing machine at the end of each shift and as required.
• Prepare pots for all outlets in the hotel.
• Wash pots and pans and return them to the proper place after cleaning.
• Place pans in the chef’s line; clean dirty dishes as needed.
• Keep glassware organised at all times and store clean dishes in the proper location.
• Maintain a clean kitchen environment by assisting kitchen staff with standard cleaning practices.
• Sweep and mop the entire kitchen and still room floor.
• Wash all clearing counters and shelves.
• Monitor waste levels in all bins and remove waste when needed.
• Clean and wash all kitchen cooking units.
• Clean and wash all pot storage shelving units.
• Assist kitchen staff in keeping their areas free of boxes and soiled equipment.
• Follow proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
• Ensure all breakages are reported to the Head Chef.

Requirements

• Flexibility in working hours, including shifts in the morning, evening, weekends, Christmas, and public holidays.
• Must be legally able to work past 11 pm throughout the week.
• Previous experience working in a kitchen environment (hotel, restaurant, bar).
