Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Kitchen Porter in Ireland to help keep our kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly. You will support dishwashing, food prep basics, and inventory tasks as part of a collaborative, performance-driven team.

We value strong teamwork, good communication, and a can-do attitude, with opportunities for ongoing training and development within a supportive hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers.
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise surfaces, countertops, and food prep areas; manage waste.
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs with basic prep tasks like peeling, chopping, and slicing.
• Inventory Management – Assist receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies.
• Compliance with Health and Safety – Maintain cleanliness and ensure equipment is in good order.

Job Description

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation –Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
• Goods in and out

• No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
