Job summary

A leading catering company in Cork is looking for a Kitchen Porter to maintain a clean and organized kitchen. Responsibilities include dishwashing, food preparation assistance, and inventory management. The ideal candidate should have physical stamina, attention to detail, and good teamwork skills. The role offers €14.50 per hour, 39 hours per week, and various employee benefits like 20 days of holidays and free meals on shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling and chopping ingredients.
• Assist in receiving and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.

Job Description

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation –Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
• Goods in and out
