Job summary

Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Carlow is seeking a Bar Supervisor to lead the bar team, ensuring smooth operations across shifts and strict adherence to standards. You will drive guest satisfaction through effective supervision and a proactive approach to daily tasks.

The role requires strong leadership, a track record in busy Food & Beverage settings, and the ability to coach staff to maintain high service levels within a four-star hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy Food & Beverage environment.
• Ability to manage a large team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to supervise bar operations and maintain guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth running of all bar operations in the absence of the Bar Manager.
• Ensure weekly/daily checklists are completed by bar staff.
• Ensure all bar staff adhere to procedures as outlined in the standards manual.
• Rotate and store stock safely.
• Prepare bars for shift setup in advance of each shift according to procedures.
• Ensure staff arrive on time in correct uniform and name badge.
• Develop, train and coach bar staff to meet four-star hotel standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth running of all bar operations in the absence of the Bar Manager
• Ensure weekly/daily checklists are completed by bar staff
• Ensure all of the bar team adhere to systems and procedures as outlined in the standards of procedures manual
• Ensure all stock is rotated and stored in a safe manner
• Ensure all bars are prepared for set up in advance of each shift and in accordance with relevant standards of procedure
• Ensure that all staff arrive to work on time and in correct uniform and name badge as per weekly rota
• Develop, train and coach bar staff to the standards required of a four star Hotel establishment in accordance with the standards of procedures manual

• Previous supervisor experience in a busy Food & Beverage environment is desired
• The ability to work towards achieving financial goals and targets set
• Proven ability to supervise bar operations with a track record of delivering guest satisfaction, employee retention and engagement
• Strong ability to work efficiently and deal with busy periods competently
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
