Job summary

Pret A Manger is hiring a Kitchen Leader to support the management team in leading a high-performing back-of-house operation. You will coach and develop team members, ensure food quality meets Pret standards, and drive daily kitchen performance.

This role requires hospitality experience, team leadership, strong food safety knowledge and excellent communication. A hands-on leader who stays calm under pressure will help build a positive culture and career progression within the shop.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Experience leading or supervising a team.
• Passion for food quality and operational excellence.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Hands-on, leading by example.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stay calm and effective in busy environments.

Responsibilities

• Leading kitchen shifts and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the shop.
• Coaching and developing team members to build confidence, capability and kitchen knowledge.
• Ensuring all food is prepared and presented according to Pret standards and specifications.
• Driving excellent food safety, health & safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Managing stock levels, ordering, product availability and stock rotation.
• Minimizing waste and helping to control food costs.
• Supporting training, onboarding and development of new team members.
• Helping to build a strong talent pipeline and succession plan within the kitchen team.
• Driving productivity and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently during busy periods.
• Creating a positive, engaging and inclusive team culture.
• Acting as a role model for Pret's Values and Behaviours.
