Job summary

Evergreen Care is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Greystones Nursing Home in Ireland. The role offers training path towards a Cook’s position and ongoing in-house development.

The successful candidate will support the catering team to maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen and dining area, assist with food prep under supervision, and help present meals in an appealing way. Shifts include 10- and 8-hour blocks with meals provided on shifts.

Qualifications

• Must adhere to Basic Food Hygiene principles and HACCP.
• To prepare food as directed by the cook.
• To cook under supervision and serve meals.
• To maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the catering department in a clean, hygienic manner and ensure a tidy, warm dining room.
• Prepare food as directed by the cook and cook under supervision.
• Serve meals and ensure excellence in presentation of food.
• Keep the kitchen well stocked and manage resources economically.
• Support staff to use resources efficiently and maintain a home-like environment for residents.
