Job summary

Evergreen Care is inviting applications for a Full-time Kitchen Assistant at Borris Lodge Nursing Home in Carlow. This role supports the day-to-day kitchen operations, assists with meal preparation, and helps deliver high-quality meals and services to residents in a warm, welcoming dining environment.

You will apply Basic Food Hygiene principles and HACCP guidelines, help maintain a well-stocked, efficient kitchen, and work with the team to ensure an outstanding resident experience.

Qualifications

• Follow Basic Food Hygiene practices.
• Adhere to HACCP guidelines.
• Support meal preparation and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment.
• Assist in stock control and resource usage.
• Contribute to a home-like atmosphere for residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the catering department and all its associated areas in a clean and hygienic manner.
• Adhere to and apply Basic Food Hygiene and HACCP principles.
• Cook as required under supervision and serve meals.
• Ensure excellence in the presentation of food.
• Maintain a well-stocked kitchen while being economical with resources.
• Encourage other staff to be economical in resource use.
• Contribute to a home-like environment where residents are central to decisions and treated with dignity.
