Job summary

Cahercalla Community Hospital is seeking a part time or full time Kitchen Assistant to join their hospitality team. The role involves assisting in food preparation, service, and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of kitchen/catering experience, be HACCP trained, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Fluency in English is required, with reliable and team-oriented work ethos.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in kitchen/catering.
• HACCP trained and compliant with hygiene standards.
• Fluent English (written and oral).

Responsibilities

• Prepare resident trays and dining areas ensuring necessary equipment, utensils and food are available in required quantities and at the required time.
• Clear and clean the unit kitchen, dining areas and catering utensils using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment as directed by the line Manager.
• Advise residents on menu choice to give maximum variety.
• Adhere to hygiene, health and safety, HACCP and COSHH regulations at all times.
• Assists with record keeping as directed by the line Manager.
• Carry out other duties as directed by the line Manager.

Cahercalla Community Hospital is currently looking to recruit a part time or full timeKitchen Assistantto jointheir highly motivated and focused hospitality team.

The Kitchen Assistant must have experience working in a main Kitchen and will assist in the preparation and service of food and in the cleaning of the kitchen and dining area.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Preparation of resident trays and dining areas ensuring that the necessary equipment, utensils and food is available in the required quantities and at the required time.
• Clear and clean the unit kitchen, dining areas and catering utensils using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment as directed by you’re the line Manager.
• Advise residents on menu choice in a way as to give maximum choice.
• Adhere to good practice with regard to hygiene, health and safety, HACCP and COSHH Regulation at all times meeting all legislative requirements.
• Assists with record keeping as directed by the line Manager
• Carry out other duties as directed by the line Manager.

Skills, Attributes & Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience working in kitchen/catering
• HACCP trained

• Must be reliable & keep to schedule
