Job summary

West Cork Distillers in Skibbereen, Ireland is seeking an experienced Customer Account Manager to develop strong relationships with our ingredient and bulk customers and act as the primary day-to-day contact across Production and Logistics.

You will coordinate orders, forecasts and ongoing requirements, resolve issues and provide timely updates to senior leadership to strengthen long-term partnerships and improve the customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in account management or customer service in manufacturing or food & beverage.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple customer requirements and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to liaise with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with bulk customers.
  • Coordinate day-to-day customer queries and ensure timely responses and follow-up.
  • Coordinate customer orders, forecasts and ongoing requirements.
  • Liaise with Production to communicate customer requirements and monitor progress.
  • Coordinate with Logistics regarding deliveries and specific customer requirements.
  • Organise and support regular customer meetings and account reviews.
  • Provide the CEO and Head of Production Operations with accurate updates on customer needs, issues and opportunities.
  • Identify and escalate potential customer issues to ensure timely resolution.

West Cork Distillers was founded in 2003 by John O'Connell, Denis McCarthy and Ger McCarthy and has since grown to a team of 200 people based in our distillery in Skibbereen, Co. Cork and our Waterford site Donohoe Drinks. We are built on an entrepreneurial energy and a passion for the science and art of spirit and whiskey production.

The Role.

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Customer Account Manager to manage and develop strong relationships with our Ingredient and bulk customers.

This is a key role responsible for acting as the primary day to day point of contact for customers, coordinating their requirements across Production and Logistics, and ensuring a consistently high level of customer service.

Working closely with the CEO and Head of Production Operations, you will play an important role in understanding customer needs, managing orders and forecasts, resolving issues and identifying opportunities to strengthen long-term customer relationships.

What You'll Do.
  • Building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with bulk customers.
  • Managing day-to-day customer queries and ensuring timely responses and follow-up.
  • Coordinating customer orders, forecasts and ongoing requirements.
  • Liaising closely with Production to communicate customer requirements and monitor progress.
  • Coordinating with Logistics regarding deliveries, collections and specific customer requirements.
  • Organising and supporting regular customer meetings and account reviews.
  • Recording and following up on actions arising from customer meetings and customer queries.
  • Providing the CEO and Head of Production Operations with accurate and timely updates on customer requirements, issues and opportunities.
  • Coordinating responses to customer quality, production and delivery queries.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account information and records.
  • Identifying potential customer issues at an early stage and ensuring they are appropriately escalated and resolved.
  • Supporting the CEO and Head of Production Operations in developing and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve customer service, account management processes and the overall customer experience.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customer commitments and requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
  • Supporting a proactive, solutions-focused approach to customer service and account management.
What You'll Bring.
  • Previous experience in an account management, customer service, customer relationship or commercial role, ideally within a manufacturing, food and beverage or production environment
  • Proven experience managing professional customer relationships and acting as a key point of contact for customers
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer requirements, orders and priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • A proactive and solutions focused approach to managing customer queries and resolving issues
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate customer information and follow through on actions
  • Experience coordinating with Production, Logistics or other operational teams would be a strong advantage
  • The ability to identify potential issues early, communicate them clearly and ensure appropriate follow up
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of customer service, reliability and long term relationships
  • The ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and provide clear, accurate updates on customer requirements and opportunities
  • A professional, hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
