Job summary

ALS – Geoanalytics is seeking a disciplined Project Supervisor to work within the European project team. You will support regional maintenance teams when not on assignment and ensure timely project delivery under EU General Manager and Regional Onsite Operation Officer supervision.

You will participate in lab layout designs, cost estimations, and oversee containerized labs with third party suppliers while coordinating with clients on site installations and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in managing/supervising projects.
• General engineering and design skills.
• Experience in steel fabrication, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Ability to develop cost estimates and GANTT charts.
• Mechanical fitting including welding, carpentry, plumbing and maintenance.
• Draftsman skills with CAD/Visio experience.
• Strong MS Office knowledge and communication with site managers.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams across Europe and ensure timely completion under supervision.
• Provide support to regional maintenance teams as needed.
• Coordinate laboratory/installation projects and liaise with suppliers.
• Assist with deployment, installation and commissioning of mobile labs.
• Install prefabricated lab furniture and equipment per ALS designs.
• Oversee built lab equipment and furniture following drawings.
• Coordinate installation and fit-out, engaging suppliers as required.
• Escalate deviations from HSE/QAQC policies to senior management.
• Perform general maintenance tasks and other duties as directed.

Job description

• Work as an integral part of the Project team within Europe as requested.
• When not in project assignment, to provide full support to regional maintenance teams on as needed basis.
• Ensure projects are completed in a timely fashion under the EU General Manager and Regional Onsite Operation Officer's supervision.
• Participate in laboratory layout designs and cost estimations.
• Supervise Containerized lab projects delegated to third party suppliers and report back on progress achieved vs targets and milestone defined.
• Assist with the deployment, installation and commissioning of ALS mobile labs once delivered to client’s site.
• Installation of prefabricated lab furniture, lab benches, shelving, racking systems on different projects.
• Ability to oversee the built lab equipment or lab furniture following ALS designs and internal drawings.
• Coordinate installation and fit-out of laboratory equipment at different projects and involve and engage equipment suppliers on as needed basis.
• Escalate any deviations from the HSE/HR and QAQC policy and procedural requirements via management notification to the Senior Management as applicable immediately.
• General maintenance work when required.
• Other duties as directed by EU GM, Regional Onsite Operation Officer.

Skills/Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in managing/supervising projects.
• General engineering and design skills and experience.
• Experience and skills in steel fabrication, pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
• Ability to carry out cost estimation for projects and develop GANTT charts for projects.
• Mechanical fitting experience including experience in structural welding, carpentry, plumbing and general maintenance.
• Experience in ventilations system will be advantageous.
• Possess problem solving and analytical capability; experience of managing people and developing short, medium and long-term plans.
• Draftsman skills with preferrable experience in AutoCAD or Visio or other design/drawing software.
• Have the ability to develop effective working relationships and effective ways of communicating with all site managers in the region.
• Have a proven hands‑on attitude, be flexible and adaptable
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate and influence others.
• Possess strong change management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Have intellectual curiosity; bring valuable insight into the team / business.
• Good understanding of MS Office tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours and to travel other sites as required and as per business demand.
