RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their successful manufacturing and sustainable energy solutions leading organisation. Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan opportunity.

You will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor with measurement, cost control, procurement and project reporting, gaining exposure to commercial management on live projects. Drive learning and contribute to final accounts and risk reviews.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in a Junior Quantity Surveyor role with a third level degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Basic understanding of digital measurement and take-off software such as Bluebeam, Revit, or similar programs.
• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications and commercial documentation.
• Understanding of construction costs, materials, quantities and basic commercial principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full driving license for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Measurement & Take-offs: Assist in measuring quantities from drawings.
• Cost Tracking: Monitor live project costs, invoices, changes, and monthly expenditure against budgets.
• Final Accounts: Assist in compiling financial data to resolve and close out final accounts.
• Rates Analysis: Gather market data and material prices to support cost benchmarking and the preparation of competitive rates.
• Procurement/Subcontractor Management: Issue information to potential suppliers/subcontractors, follow up on quotes, and build comparison sheets.
• Project Coordination: Streamline daily communication between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure commercial information is communicated accurately and efficiently.
• Contract Administration: Assist with administration of project contracts, ensuring commercial records and notices are maintained.
• Document control: Maintain organised records of drawings, specifications, quotations, valuations and other commercial documents.
• Commercial Risks: Assist in identifying potential commercial risks and opportunities, escalating issues where appropriate.
• Other Duties: Undertake any other reasonable duties to fulfil the role.
