Job summary

Elk Recruitment's client in Tullamore is seeking a motivated Junior Machinist to learn and grow in manufacturing. This permanent, full-time role offers hands-on experience with machines and opportunities to contribute to production.

The role involves monitoring all machines, setting up and cleaning, ensuring quality per SOPs, and participating in improvements. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components, plus willingness to learn and perform heavy lifting, is desired.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing is beneficial.
• Willingness to learn and undergo training.
• Ability to perform manual labour and heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring all machines as per relevant procedures.
• Ensuring set ups and clean downs are completed in a timely manner.
• Maintaining quality in all aspects by following SOPs and work instructions.
• Identifying process improvements and taking part in projects.
• Keeping equipment and work areas clean and organized.

Your new role includes:

• Monitoring all machines as per relevant procedures
• Ensuring set ups and clean downs are completed in a timely manner.

• Ensuring quality in all aspects of work by following Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work Instructions and maintaining compliance with all quality requirements.
• Identifying process, equipment and documentation improvements where possible and take part in improvement projects as assigned.
• Ensuring equipment and auxiliary equipment are cleaned after every set up and floors, storage areas, etc., are maintained to a high standard.

Experience you need:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial
• Willingness to learn and undergo training
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components.
• Being comfortable with manual labour and heavy lifting
