Job summary

Arcon Recruitment is recruiting a Junior / Graduate Quantity Surveyor for a long-established Mayo construction company. Based in Ballina, you will gain hands-on experience in cost management, procurement and project administration on residential and commercial schemes.

The successful candidate will work with senior teams and develop across all QS aspects, with a focus on accuracy, teamwork and learning. A graduate-friendly environment, mentoring, and clear career progression are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or recently graduated in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
• Strong interest in construction and commercial project management.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication and organisational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Excel.
• Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Full clean driver’s licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of project cost estimates and budgets
• Support senior Quantity Surveyors with valuations and final accounts
• Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractors
• Monitor project costs and expenditure
• Prepare and maintain project documentation and reports
• Assist with tender preparation and pricing analysis
• Attend site and project meetings when required
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams
• Help manage project variations and commercial administration
• Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting throughout projects
