Job summary

Arcon Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a well-established construction client. This position is suitable for candidates seeking Quantity Surveyor jobs in Mayo, QS careers in Castlebar, or construction commercial roles within residential and commercial developments across the West of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing project cost estimates and budgets
• Managing procurement and subcontractor packages
• Preparing interim valuations and final accounts
• Monitoring project costs and financial reporting
• Assisting with tender preparation and analysis
• Reviewing subcontractor quotations and negotiations
• Conducting site visits and attending project meetings
• Preparing monthly cost reports and forecasts
• Managing project variations and change orders
• Ensuring projects remain within budget targets
• Liaising with project managers, clients, and site teams
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role
• Experience within residential and/or commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Quantity Surveying software
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full clean driver’s licence desirable
