Job summary

Aztec Group in Ireland–Kilkenny area is seeking a Depositary Services professional to carry out day-to-day functions of the Aztec Group Depositary services offering. You will monitor cash flows, safeguard assets, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while supporting onboarding and billing tasks.

The role involves supervising junior staff, preparing KPI reports for Board meetings, and contributing to SOPs in collaboration with the direct line Manager.

Qualifications

• Sound technical knowledge (supported through training)
• Computer literacy with word processing and spreadsheet skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills for relationships with colleagues, clients and contacts
• Eye for detail with initiative to provide commercial, risk-aware solutions
• Willingness to read and interpret domestic and EU regulations and legislation
• Experience supervising at least one employee and developing responsibilities in people management
• Experience managing a client relationship or part of a major client relationship is essential

Responsibilities

• Safekeeping of fund assets through custody or verification of ownership
• Oversee operation of the fund platform with ex post controls and checks
• Ensure depositary services comply with legal and regulatory requirements
• Act as a higher authority on day-to-day queries
• Support line Manager on delegated tasks (Billing, onboarding, etc)
• Provide oversight and monitoring including transaction reviews and documentation collection
• Act as 4-eyes reviewer on depositary matters ensuring policy and guidelines
• Prepare KPI reporting and present at Board meetings
• Supervise and train junior staff
• Help establish and refine operating procedures for depositary services with direct line Manager

About the role:

Reports to Depositary Manager

The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day functions of the Aztec Group Depositary services offering.

Key responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for monitoring all cash flows passing through the fund platform following the given procedures
• Assume responsibility for the safe keeping of fund assets, whether through custody or more general verification of ownership
• Oversee the proper operation of the fund platform, implementing a number of ex post controls and checks to achieve it
• In conjunction with the direct line Manager, ensure that the depositary services department complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Act as a higher authority on internal and external day-to-day queries
• Support direct line Manager on delegated tasks (Billing, onboarding, etc)
• Take responsibility for providing oversight and monitoring, including transaction reviews and documentation collection process
• Act as a 4-eyes level of review on depositary matters, ensuring Aztec policy and professional guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality service is provided to clients and outside contacts
• Prepare KPI reporting and present it in Board meetings
• Supervise and assist in the training and development of more junior staff
• Actively participate to establish and refine operating procedures relating to the depositary services offering in collaboration with direct line Manager

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

• Sound technical knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy and bespoke on the job training)
• Computer literacy, word processing and spread sheet skills are essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
• An eye for detail and good degree of initiative with an ability to provide commercial, risk sensitive solutions for clients
• A willingness to read and interpret domestic and EU regulations and legislation is desirable
• Experience of day to day supervision of at least one employee coupled with a desire to develop responsibilities within the people management arena
• Experience of responsibility for a client relationship or a significant part of a major client relationship is also essential
