Job summary

Aztec Group is hiring a Fund Accountant in Kilkenny for a hybrid role. You will carry out routine accounting for fund structures under supervision, with focus on reconciliations, investor reports, and tax support. Training and qualification support are offered through the Aztec Academy.

The role emphasizes accuracy, client liaison, and collaboration with the Financial Reporting Manager and trainee staff. A strong foundation in Excel and fund accounting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a relevant professional qualification (ACCA Fundamental Skills or ACA Professional level preferred).
• Some technical financial services knowledge is expected and supported through Aztec Academy.
• Strong computer literacy, particularly with Excel and related financial software.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeep funds, management companies and fund structures.
• Prepare investor reports, statutory financial statements and respond to ad-hoc queries.
• Carry out bank reconciliations and maintain working papers in Excel/eFront.
• Assist with routine tax returns and tax-related documentation.
• Support trainee staff onboarding and induction.

If you are passionate, curious, innovative and data driven, you could still be a good fit. **About the role:** The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.**Key responsibilities:**+ Bookkeep funds, management companies and associated fund structures within the team+ Assist with all aspects of accounting matters, including the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements, and ad-hoc investor queries+ Assist with the completion of routine audit queries+ Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions+ Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of bookkeeping+ Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns+ Assist and support the induction, integration and training of trainee staff**Skills, knowledge, expertise:**+ The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level)+ Some technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)+ Computer literacy skills are essentialWe will provide the training, both in house for relevant technical knowledge and also professional qualifications to enhance your professional development.
