Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications using AWS services. You will work on database schemas, SQL queries, and batch processing systems, while mentoring juniors and ensuring code quality.

The role requires 5+ years of Java experience, proficiency in Spring and Hibernate, and strong problem-solving and collaborative skills. Flexible/remote working is available in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years' experience as a Java Developer in product development or services.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Event Bus).
• Proficient in Java, Spring, Hibernate, RESTful APIs; SQL & DB performance.
• Analytical, collaborative, and strong communication skills.

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team. This role requires experience in Java development, AWS, database management, and batch processing. As a Java Developer, you will contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining applications that meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java applications
• Use AWS services to build and deploy cloud-based solutions, supporting availability and scalability
• Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, write SQL queries, and improve performance
• Develop and maintain batch processing systems to handle large volumes of data
• Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to standards
• Work with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA engineers, and developers
• Identify and resolve performance issues and bugs
• Support junior developers through knowledge sharing and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years' experience as a Java Developer in a product development or services environment
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bus
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), including SQL and performance troubleshooting
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Desirable Experience

• Experience with batch processing frameworks and tools
• Python experience (minimum 2 years)
