IT Systems Engineer – On-Site, M365 & Security

Job summary

Brennan & Co Group in Ireland is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to deliver responsive technical support, manage Microsoft 365 and identity services, and maintain infrastructure across on-site operations. The role includes end-user support, security enhancements, and collaboration with the Group IT Manager on projects.

This is an on-site role five days a week with occasional travel to Galway and Belfast and out-of-hours work for maintenance and incidents.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in IT or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Five+ years' experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role.
• Hands-on with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, AD, SharePoint, Windows Server, and Hyper-V.
• Experience supporting Windows, Android, and iOS devices and network infrastructure.
• Experience supporting ISO 27001 implementation and audits, security controls and risk assessments.
• ERP/CRM systems experience; MS Business Central is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, work independently, and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive IT support and take ownership of incidents through resolution.
• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and apps.
• Support Microsoft 365 apps including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Entra ID.
• Manage user accounts, groups, licences, permissions, mailboxes, and onboarding/offboarding.
• Support identity and access processes (MFA, conditional access, access controls).
• Administer on-premises Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, and Hyper‑V.
• Perform routine patches, upgrades, and health checks with minimal disruption.
• Maintain switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network connectivity.
• Assist with ISO 27001 security controls and audits, and risk remediation.
• Log, categorize, prioritise, and track cases in Salesforce with SLA adherence.
• Create knowledge articles, support guides, and technical documentation.
• Monitor service health and support ERP/CRM platforms.
