Job summary

Brennan & Co Group in Dublin is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support and secure the company’s ICT infrastructure. This on-site role involves end-user support, Microsoft 365 administration, and day-to-day operations across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will own incidents, manage AD/Group Policy/Hyper‑V, and collaborate with vendors to drive improvements, including ISO 27001 initiatives and security governance for ERP/CRM systems. Travel to other offices may occur.

Qualifications

A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Five or more years’ experience in IT support, systems administration, infrastructure operations, or a similar role.
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory, SharePoint, Windows Server, and Hyper‑V.
Practical experience supporting Windows, Android, and iOS devices and network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless connectivity, and VPN access.
Experience supporting ISO 27001 implementation and ongoing certification, including security controls, documentation, risk assessments, internal audits, and corrective actions.
Experience supporting ERP and CRM systems. Experience with Microsoft Business Central will be a strong advantage.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills, with a proactive approach to anticipating and resolving issues.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and an approachable and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive technical support to employees and take ownership of incidents and service requests through to resolution.
Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, and standard business applications.
Support Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Microsoft Entra ID.
Manage user accounts, groups, licences, permissions, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, security settings, and onboarding and offboarding activities.
Support identity and access processes, including authentication, conditional access, multifactor authentication, and approved access controls.
Administer and maintain on-premises Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server services, and Hyper‑V virtualization infrastructure.
Perform routine patching, upgrades, configuration changes, health checks, maintenance, and infrastructure improvements with minimal disruption.
Maintain and support switches, firewalls, wired and wireless connectivity, VPN access, network access controls, and related equipment.
Apply IT security best practices and assist with vulnerability remediation, incident response, risk reduction, and Microsoft 365 security, governance, and compliance initiatives.
Support ISO 27001 implementation and ongoing certification activities, including security controls, documentation, audits, risk management, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
Log, categorise, prioritise, track, and resolve cases in Salesforce, ensuring clear notes, user communications, actions, resolution details, and progress within agreed service levels.
Create and maintain knowledge articles, support guides, asset records, configuration records, technical documentation, and operating procedures.
Monitor relevant service health, investigate issues affecting business systems or collaboration services, and support ERP and CRM platforms.
Work closely with the Group IT Manager and participate in IT projects, infrastructure improvements, audits, and technology rollouts.
Coordinate with vendors, managed service providers, and other third parties when specialist support is required.
