IT Systems Administrator
Join Our Growing Tech Team!
Are you passionate about IT and excited by the chance to make a real impact? We are a leading automotive group representing world-class brands, and behind our success is a lean, sharp IT team that keeps everything running smoothly. We're looking for an enthusiastic IT Systems Administrator who loves tackling technical challenges with initiative and creativity. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across multiple sites, automating processes, and supporting a vibrant community of users.
This role matters. You’ll support staff across diverse locations - Galway, Ballina, Sligo, and Letterkenny - by managing infrastructure, automating repetitive tasks, and ensuring our systems remain secure and efficient. If you're someone who sees a manual task and immediately thinks, "I could write a script for that," you’ll thrive here.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the helpdesk - triage, resolve, and close tickets in Freshservice efficiently.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell - scripting, scheduling, and streamlining processes.
- Maintain the health of our network - working with Cisco Meraki routers, Aruba switches, and VLAN infrastructure to keep everything fast, segmented, and secure.
- Manage our Microsoft 365 environment - including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Entra ID.
- Support onboarding & offboarding - provisioning new staff and securely decommissioning accounts.
- Keep endpoints protected - managing and maintaining our endpoint security platform.
- Support our telephony system - administering the IP PBX for clear communications across the group.
- Manage email and security policies - reviewing quarantine and keeping inboxes clean with our email security gateway.
- Support dealer systems - including Keyloop DMS and other proprietary platforms.
- Use remote support tools - troubleshooting issues efficiently without always requiring on-site presence.
- Support Time & Attendance system - ensuring smooth operation for HR and payroll processes.
- Travel between sites - with a full, clean driving licence.
Requirements
- The IT Systems Administrator will have solid networking fundamentals - routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP.
- Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory / Entra ID administration.
- Strong PowerShell skills (or the motivation to develop them quickly).
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly and confidently to non-technical colleagues.
- Self-motivated with the confidence to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
- Willingness to learn automotive dealer systems - experience with Keyloop is a bonus but not essential.
- A relevant qualification in IT or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Full, clean driving licence.
What You Will Receive
- A dynamic role with variety - infrastructure, helpdesk, automation, and communication systems.
- Trusted to make decisions and work independently.
- Room for growth within a well-established Irish business investing in its IT capabilities.
- A supportive team environment that values knowledge-sharing and continuous learning.
