Job summary

Nostra in Cork City is seeking a System Engineer to support modern cloud and physical infrastructure, act as escalation, mentor engineers and help design new solutions. You will work across Azure, AWS, VMware, Windows Server and enterprise networking, liaising with stakeholders to ensure security, reliability and efficiency.

Strong communication and 5+ years in senior IT roles are required; a focus on AD, Exchange, Office 365 and hybrid environments is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in aSenior IT Engineer or IT Infrastructure Engineer role.
• Excellent all-round IT infrastructure knowledge, including design, delivery and documentation.
• Knowledge of cloud computing trends and vendor management supervision.
• Must be an excellent communicator and problem solver with ability to motivate technical teams.
• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Group Policy, Exchange, Office 365, Hybrid, Exchange migrations, Azure AD, EMS, Intune, VMs/Hyper-V.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical escalation point for support issues.
• Provide SME guidance across cloud infrastructure including Azure, AWS, Office 365 and on-prem technologies.
• Consult with customers and internal stakeholders to suggest improvements.
• Coordinate with account managers and service delivery to maximise service quality, reduce costs, and increase security.
• Mentor junior engineers on support issues and emerging technologies.
• Lead post-incident reviews and contribute to RCAs.

Working across Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, VMware, Windows Server and enterprise networking, you'll act as a technical escalation, solving complex challenges, mentoring engineers and helping customers maximise the performance, security and reliability of their IT environments. Nostra has offices in Dublin, Galway, Cork & Belfast. This role will be based in Cork City.

Responsibilities

• Working within a technical service desk team, dealing directly with customers.
• Act as a technical escalation point for support issues.
• Providing subject matter expertise to customers across cloud infrastructure including Azure, AWS, Office 365 and on premises technologies including networking.
• This may include working with customers and internal stakeholders to consult on improvements.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders including account managers, project managers and the Service Delivery team to ensure the provision of the highest level of service to our customers with the aim of decreasing cost and increasing efficiency, transparency and security.
• Mentoring of our junior engineers in relation to support issues and ticket management, as well as emerging technologies and best practice.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and contribute to root cause analyses (RCAs).

Requirements

• 5+ Years Experience in a Senior IT Engineer or IT Infrastructure Engineer role.
• Excellent all-round IT infrastructure technical knowledge, including infrastructure design and delivery and documentation.
• Knowledge of infrastructure industry trends such as Cloud Computing.
• Vendor management and the technical supervision of their services.
• Must be an excellent communicator and an effective problem solver with an ability to motivate technical teams.
• In-depth technical knowledge of the following: Active Directory, Domain Controllers and Group Policy configuration, experience in AD Domain\Forest migrations, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Hybrid, Experience in Exchange to Office365 Migrations, Azure AD, EMS, Intune knowledge, virtualised environments (VMWare and Hyper-V).
• Windows Server.
• Security technologies such as Firewall (SonicWALL, Fortinet, Azure) and VPN.
• Networking - MPLS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routers and Switches (HP, Aruba).
