Job summary

Stackand.Co in Galway is seeking an experienced IT Field Service Engineer to support multiple client sites across MSP environments. The role covers onsite support, server and network issues, Microsoft 365, and project work, with regular travel in a company van.

You will manage diverse environments for multiple external clients, providing Level 2 support and escalating to Level 3 when needed. A full Irish driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• MSP experience is essential for this position.
• At least 3+ years' experience as IT Field Service Engineer in an MSP.
• Experience supporting multiple external clients and different IT environments simultaneously.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Windows Server in a commercial environment.
• Strong Windows desktop and endpoint troubleshooting skills.
• Good networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
• Experience visiting client sites and dealing with business users.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and take ownership of workload.
• Clear, professional spoken and written English.
• Full Irish driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Visit client sites to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues.
• Support multiple MSP clients and environments at the same time.
• Provide Level 2 support with exposure to Level 3 issues and projects.
• Support Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online and SharePoint.
• Support Azure and Microsoft cloud services.
• Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops and Server environments.
• Install and configure servers and infrastructure in live client environments.
• Diagnose LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN and general networking issues.
• Configure and support firewalls (SonicWall, Fortinet, Sophos).
• Work on IT installations, upgrades, migrations and client projects.
• Document work clearly and keep client information up to date.
• Communicate with client users, managers and internal teams.
• Take ownership of issues from initial diagnosis to resolution.

If you are an experienced IT Field Service Engineer who enjoys getting out to client sites, solving problems and taking ownership of your work, this could be a very good next move.

We are working with an established IT services business that is looking to add an experienced Field Service Engineer to its Galway team.

This is a varied technical role supporting multiple business clients across different environments. You will work across onsite support, infrastructure troubleshooting, Microsoft 365, servers, networking and project work rather than dealing with the same environment every day.

You will need to be comfortable representing an MSP professionally at client sites, managing your own workload and taking technical issues through to resolution.

The Role

You will provide hands-on IT support and project assistance across a portfolio of business clients in Galway and the surrounding region.

Your work will include:

• Visiting client sites to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues
• Supporting multiple MSP clients and environments at the same time
• Providing Level 2 support, with exposure to more complex Level 3 issues and project work
• Supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint and related services
• Supporting Azure and Microsoft cloud services
• Troubleshooting Windows desktops, laptops and Windows Server environments
• Installing and configuring servers and infrastructure in live client environments

Requirements

What We Need

MSP experience is essential for this position.

You must have:

• At least 3+ years' experience working as an IT Field Service Engineer within an MSP
• Strong experience supporting multiple external clients and different IT environments at the same time
• Good Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting experience
• Experience with Windows Server in a commercial environment
• Strong Windows desktop and endpoint troubleshooting skills
• Good networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and general network troubleshooting
• Experience supporting or configuring business firewalls such as SonicWall, Fortinet, Sophos or similar
• Experience visiting client sites and dealing directly with business users
• The confidence to troubleshoot issues independently and take ownership of your workload
• Good documentation and time-management skills
• Clear, professional spoken and written English
• A full Irish driving licence

You must also be currently living in Galway City or County Galway .

This role will involve regular travel to customer sites using a company van , so the driving licence requirement is essential.
