Job summary

XOCEAN, an ocean data company using uncrewed vessels, seeks an IT Operations professional to support its growing IT environment in Ireland. You will work across hardware, software and cloud services to deliver a first class end-user experience and keep systems running smoothly aboard USVs.

The role requires 3–4 years in IT, strong Microsoft 365 and Windows 10/11 knowledge, Jira Service Management experience, and hands-on hardware skills.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in an IT role.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Platform.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 Operating Systems.
• General experience with IT Hardware/Software issues.
• Strong understanding of networking and firewalls.
• Ability to manage time independently and handle short-term and long-term projects.
• Willingness to travel between XOCEAN sites in Dundalk and Rathcor.
• Experience with Dell hardware.
• Experience with Jira Project development and Screen Connect configuration.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or working toward them are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day IT operations.
• Provide IT support to all XOCEAN users and escalated issues when necessary.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripherals to identify issue root causes.
• Document support activities, including resolutions, troubleshooting steps, and change management requests.
• Satisfy agreed SLA for IT Trouble Tickets to avoid downtime.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the configuration and maintenance of PCs and IT hardware onboard USVs
• Be the primary owner of the configuration and development of Jira Service Management platform.
• Deliver approved IT projects from planning and execution to deployment and support, ensuring goals are met on time and within scope.
• Prepare and maintain documentation on all projects.
• Appropriate use of Change Management methods and alignment with ISO27001 standards.

Overview

The successful candidate will be involved in the continuous development and support of XOCEAN's IT Environment. They will work with all aspects of IT, including Hardware, Software, and Cloud Services to provide a first class end user experience.

Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience

• 3-4 Years experience in an IT role
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Platform.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 Operating Systems.
• General experience with IT Hardware/Software issues.
• Strong understanding of networking and firewalls.
• Ability to manage time independently, tasked with short term reactionary duties as well as long term strategic projects.
• Flexibility to travel between XOCEAN sites in Dundalk and Rathcor.
• Experience with Dell hardware.
• Experience with Jira Project development, Screen Connect configuration
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or working to achieve are a plus.
