Job summary

DSV – Global transport and logistics is seeking an Inventory Planner in Leixlip to balance inventory levels, forecast demand and work with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure material availability and service excellence.

The role involves analyzing data, generating ERP/Excel reports, processing requisitions, and coordinating with multiple functions to optimize inventory and reduce costs. Strong Excel and ERP experience are essential in this fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Analytical and detail-oriented with data-driven mindset.
• Experience in supply chain, inventory, purchasing or planning functions.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Excel (pivot, lookups, data analysis).

Responsibilities

• Analyse replenishment and consumption data to identify inventory requirements and trends.
• Generate ERP and Excel-based reports to support planning decisions.
• Create and process purchase requisitions to maintain material availability.
• Balance forecast demand against on-hand/on-order/in-transit inventory.
• Collaborate with engineers, buyers, commodity managers and suppliers to plan materials.
• Escalate shortages and supply risks impacting performance.
• Coordinate cycle counts and inventory audits for accuracy.
• Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain material data and BOM in ERP systems.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
• Identify opportunities for inventory savings and efficiency improvements.
• Provide high level service to internal and external customers.
