Ideal candidates are pursuing an Irish university degree in Engineering or Manufacturing, with strong analytical and teamwork skills. The role emphasizes structured problem solving, mentorship, and exposure to real-world healthcare projects at Stryker.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day Lean and CI activities and gain hands-on experience in operational excellence.
  • Maintain Daily Management Systems boards, track metrics, and ensure standard processes are followed.
  • Assist with data collection, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Kaizen events and Lean/CI initiatives, document improvements and track actions to completion.
  • Contribute to visual management and performance reporting.

Job Description

This role will be based in one of our Cork sites. The Lean & Continuous Improvement (CI) team at Stryker is focused on driving operational excellence by improving processes, eliminating waste, and enhancing overall performance across the organization. We apply Lean principles and structured problem-solving methodologies to ensure our processes are efficient, scalable, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes for our customers and patients.

Our work involves partnering with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline workflows, and reduce variability. We lead and support initiatives such as process mapping, root cause analysis, Kaizen events, and standard work development. By leveraging data and performance metrics, we prioritize impactful projects and measure the success of improvements.

Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2027 Cooperative cohort. Tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Support the day-to-day execution of Lean and CI activities while gaining hands-on experience in operational excellence practices.

  • Supporting Daily Management Systems (DMS) and Leader Standard Work by maintaining visual boards, tracking metrics, and ensuring consistent adherence to standard processes.

  • Actively participating in structured problem-solving efforts, assisting with data collection, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Supporting the pre-work, execution, and follow-up of Kaizen events and other Lean/CI initiatives, helping to coordinate activities, document improvements, and track action items to completion.

  • Contributing to the visual management and reporting by developing clear, effective displays of performance and progress.

  • All other duties as assigned

What you will need:

  • Currently completing an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or similar courses.

  • Must be able to analyze and correct complex testing and/or systems issues of a broad scope using independent judgment

  • Honesty and integrity; must comply with the quality system, regulations, and company policies

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and hardworking - enjoys working in a dynamic, fast and results orientated environment

  • Is a team player and capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a basic PC knowledge

  • Available for either 6, 9 or 12 months – exact duration and start date to be discussed with your Talent Acquisition Business Partner at Stryker

Ireland Pay Ranges:

  • Ireland: €30,000 EUR Annual
