Abbott in Kilkenny seeks an Industrial Engineer to optimize operations using Lean Six Sigma. You will drive near-term improvements, develop long-term strategic roadmaps for manufacturing layouts, and lead cross-functional projects to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.

The role emphasizes building a continuous improvement culture and embedding Lean principles into current and future facility designs across Abbott Diabetes Care in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering / science.
• +3 years of relevant industrial engineering experience.
• Black Belt qualification.
• Experience with OEE data management, SPC, and budgeting.
• Strong technical expertise in manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven project management and mathematical modelling ability.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and related methodologies.
• Ability to work both independently and in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement improvements to site operations to meet goals.
• Lead industrial engineering activities for clean room and equipment expansion programs.
• Develop models and presentations on facility, capacity and expansion planning.
• Measure and report efficiency data and oversee data integrity.
• Communicate findings to management and drive implementation of improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver sustained cost and quality improvements.
• Develop dashboards with Systems/Process Engineers to support manufacturing teams.
